Winds shifted from the north-northeast to the south-southwest by Sunday.
Rain chances were scattered on Saturday, with more showers and storms expected inland on Sunday. A front arrived later in the evening and overnight, allowing for a wet start on Monday. This front brought more showers and storms to the region later in the day, with temperatures in the upper 90s and heat index in the triple digits. Some of those storms could contain heavy downpours and gusty winds in the afternoon.
Looking ahead, scattered showers and storms were expected in the afternoon each day, with temperatures holding in the lower 90s. Lows were expected to be in the low 70s midweek, with a gradual cooling trend bringing temperatures to the mid-80s by late week and the upcoming weekend.
