This stunning region, known for its exceptional Nordic skiing and world-class competitions, will welcome athletes, enthusiasts, and visitors from around the globe, reinforcing its role as a crucial part of the Olympic Games.

Olympic festivities and skiing in Val di Fiemme

Throughout the Olympic period, Val di Fiemme will be a prime destination for skiing enthusiasts. The Val di Fiemme–Obereggen ski area will remain operational, providing access to meticulously groomed slopes and open lodges for rest between runs.

Situated in the heart of the magnificentDolomites, the region’s transportation system will be optimized to accommodate the expected influx of visitors. Access to ski areas will be well-managed to ensure safety and efficiency, with entry points concentrated in Obereggen and Pampeago during the peak of the Olympic festivities.

Enhanced transportation and access

In preparation for the Olympics, parking facilities in Predazzo will undergo changes to introduce alternative solutions and shuttle services that streamline skier movements. Additionally, the public transportation network will be improved, offering dedicated connections between key hubs and ski lifts. This initiative aims to reduce private traffic and enhance the

While traditional services, such as the Predazzo train, will shift to larger urban transport options, the overarching goal remains to provide a consistent and comfortable experience for those visiting Val di Fiemme, even amidst the Olympic atmosphere.

The Olympic flame in Val di Fiemme

A highlight leading up to the competitions will be the arrival of theOlympic flameon January 28. Festivities in Predazzo will begin at 2:00 PM in the town square, featuring music and entertainment by Chicco Montini and DJ Roby. At 3:00 PM, a torchbearer will carry the flame, culminating in the lighting of a temporary cauldron.

In Tesero, celebrations will kick off at 4:00 PM in Piazza C. Battisti with a captivating performance by Circensema, showcasing impressive acrobatics and artistic displays. The event will also include activities from the Bambi Association for families and children, with the Olympic flame expected to arrive around 4:45 PM.

Finally, in Cavalese, activities will begin at 5:00 PM in Piazza Scopoli, transforming it into an Olympic village filled with performances hosted by the Milano Cortina Foundation and engaging attractions in the Coca Cola and ENI villages. The Sports Area will provide entertainment and opportunities for active participation, with a dance performance at 6:00 PM, followed by karaoke and a DJ set. The final torchbearer will arrive at 7:00 PM, leading to the cauldron lighting at 7:30 PM.

From February 6 to 22, 2026, Val di Fiemme will serve as a central hub for the Winter Olympics, hosting theParalympicsfrom March 6 to 15. This region will be responsible for nearly one-third of all medals awarded, with a total of 59 events taking place across both the Olympics and Paralympics.
