Argomenti trattati
The Royal Falcons U13s have reached the Essex County cup final, an achievement that celebrates years of training, team spirit and steady progress. I am Nathan, the head coach who has worked with this group for six seasons, and I want to share how we plan to mark the occasion. Normally on a match day routine every family makes their own travel arrangements, but this fixture is special and we want to make it a unified experience for the boys and staff.
To make that happen I am proposing to hire a single coach to transport the squad together to Aveley. The plan is designed to be inclusive: with a squad size of 16 players plus 2 coaches, a single vehicle will simplify logistics and create a team atmosphere from the moment we set off. Any leftover funds after the coach hire will be directed towards a future team day out as a reward for the players’ dedication.
Logistics and practical details
We are arranging transport specifically for the final at Aveley football club on Sunday 3rd May. The group travel option reduces the number of separate cars, keeps supervision straightforward and helps the team arrive together in a calm, focused frame of mind. As the organiser, my aim is to book a coach that comfortably accommodates all 18 people and their equipment, ensuring safety and convenience for everyone involved.
Who is included
The travel plan covers the full matchday party: the 16 registered players in the squad and the 2 registered coaches who will oversee the journey and match preparation. Bringing the team together on one vehicle encourages camaraderie, enables staff to manage kit and welfare centrally, and means players share the build-up and post-match reflection in real time. This is about more than transport; it’s an investment in the team’s collective experience.
Costs and funding approach
During challenging financial times I want to make sure no parent faces extra strain because of this trip. The intention is for club funds or organised fundraising to cover the coach hire, rather than asking families for additional contributions. If there is any surplus after covering the transport cost, the money will be held for a planned team day out—something the players have earned and can look forward to together.
Minimising burdens on families
The proposal is deliberately simple: one cost for one vehicle that benefits everyone. By avoiding individual travel arrangements we reduce both logistical complexity and unexpected costs for parents. The approach respects household budgets while offering the team a memorable, shared journey to a significant match. If additional fundraising is required, we will aim to do that in ways that are accessible and fair to all families.
How to support and attend
We welcome supporters to come along and back the boys at Aveley football club on Sunday 3rd May. Seeing familiar faces in the stands makes a big difference for young players and helps create an encouraging match atmosphere. If you are a parent, family member or local supporter, please consider attending; your presence will be appreciated and will help the squad feel the community behind them.
Next steps
Parents and guardians will receive further details about the final arrangements, any fundraising plans and the confirmed travel itinerary in the coming days. If you have questions or want to offer help, please speak directly to me, Nathan, or to club volunteers who are coordinating the logistics. Thank you for your support and for helping us give the players a positive, memorable day out.
