What does the funding cover?
Award recipients may receive financial assistance for one or more of the following components: registration feesshared housing and travel costs. Full awards that cover registration, housing, and travel are limited, so applicants should clearly indicate which elements are most critical to their attendance. Even partial support can make a decisive difference for many participants.
Key dates and application timeline
The application window opened on April 15, 2026. For judges, the deadline to submit a request is August 12, 2026 with notifications sent out on August 24, 2026. Student applicants have until 11:59 pm PT, September 11, 2026 to file their proposals; decisions will be announced on October 5, 2026. The conference itself runs from November 18-21, 2026 giving awardees ample time to arrange travel once they receive confirmation.
How to submit a successful application
All candidates must complete the online form available on the ABRCMS website. The form requests personal information, a brief abstract of the presentation (for students), and a statement of need outlining how the award will enable participation. Because the number of full travel grants is small, applicants are encouraged to be concise yet persuasive, highlighting any unique perspectives they will bring to the meeting.
